Voted No on taking federal taxes off diesel
A Conservative motion asking the government to adopt an "Emergency Fuel Relief Plan": remove all taxes on diesel at the pump until at least Canada Day, permanently remove taxes on producing diesel, fast-track permits for refineries, pipelines, rail and storage, and aim to make one million barrels of Canadian diesel a day.
The motion said diesel in Canada was about 24 cents a litre above the U.S. average on September 28. It was defeated 133 to 196, with the Liberals, Bloc, NDP and Greens voting against.

Our viewDiesel runs the tractors that bring in the Valley's harvest and the trucks that move it. Two weeks before this vote, Mr. Blois told the House his government had "eliminated" the excise tax on gasoline and diesel. The government's own bill, C-38, calls it a temporary suspension: it runs to January 31, 2027, and the tax starts coming back the next day.
Asked to take every federal tax off diesel and to make more of it here at home, he voted no.

Voted No on ending federal taxes on gas and diesel for 2026
A Conservative motion asking the government to end all federal taxes on gas and diesel for the rest of 2026, including the GST, and to permanently scrap the Clean Fuel Standard.
The motion said gas was costing about 22 cents a litre more in Canada than in the United States. It was defeated 138 to 195, with the Liberals, Bloc, NDP and Greens voting against.

Our viewKings—Hants covers more than 4,500 square kilometres. People here drive to work, to the farm, to the rink and to the doctor because there is no other way to get there. Every litre carries federal tax.
This motion would have taken that tax off for the rest of the year. Mr. Blois voted no.

Voted No on a plan to cut the cost of growing and moving food
A Conservative motion asking the government to bring in a "Food Affordability Plan": remove the industrial carbon tax on farm equipment, fertilizer and food processors, remove the fuel standard charge on farmers and truckers, drop the food packaging rules, and increase competition among grocery chains.
The motion said Canadians were making 2.2 million visits a month to food banks. It was defeated 137 to 195, with the Liberals, Bloc, NDP and Greens voting against.

Our viewKings—Hants grows food. The costs this motion went after, on fertilizer, equipment, fuel and packaging, are paid by Valley farmers and processors long before anything reaches a grocery shelf, and then paid again by every family at the checkout.
Mr. Blois tells the House his government has a plan to support farmers. When a plan to take those costs off was put to a vote, he voted no.

Voted No on all three food-price motions
A Conservative motion asking the Prime Minister to "stop taxing food" by eliminating the industrial carbon tax on fertilizer and farm equipment, the Clean Fuel Standard, the plastics ban and packaging requirements, and deficit spending the motion called an "inflation tax".
The motion said food bank use in Canada was up 142% since 2015. It was defeated 138 to 194, with the Liberals, Bloc, NDP and Greens voting against.

Our viewThis was one of three opposition motions on food prices in this Parliament: June 2025, October 2025 and February 2026. Mr. Blois voted no on all three.
Statistics Canada says grocery prices have risen 29% since August 2021. Three times he had the chance to say that mattered more than his party's line.
